The villa combines the best of the historic and the modern, incorporating the walls of a nineteenth century farmhouse and clad in traditional stone with timbered vaulted ceilings. The building, which comprises 200 square meters (just over 2,000 square feet), has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (two full bathrooms with shower and one half bathroom).

On the ground floor, the comfortable living room has a wall of floor-to-ceiling glass doors showcasing the view of the lake, a dining room with stone fireplace and an updated kitchen complete with a dishwasher and an oven. There is a double bedroom on this level with en suite bathroom as well as an additional full bathroom.

On the second floor, two double bedrooms with a half bath adjacent each have a stunning view of the lake.

Villa Gia has private, off-street parking. It is only 800 meters (1/2 mile) from the local train station, Funivia Stresa-Alpino-Mottarone, which has frequent direct train service from downtown Milan. Malpensa Airport is 33 km (21 miles) from the property. Villa Pallavicino Zoological Park is 3.3 km (2 miles) away.

From October 15 to April 15 are planned extra obligatory heating costs.

Relax and unwind at beautiful Villa Gia
Posted on: 10/13/2017

  • We enjoyed watching the sun rise over the mountains and the lake burst into life each morning. The view towards beautiful Lake Maggiore was outstanding. The serenity of Villa Gia helped us to unwind and relax. The 6 of us were very comfortable at the villa, and it was mostly well equipped with plenty of space to move around. It's terraced garden provided extra space to sit and read or chat. Located on the hillside, it is quiet and away from traffic. We would walk into Stresa for ferries, dinner, shopping and sightseeing, although the walk back uphill, might be strenuous for some. We really enjoyed our stay here, it was hard to leave.
  • The showers were small, and a washing machine would have been handy.

Great views but a little cramped
Posted on: 10/13/2017

  • The views from the property over the Lake were superb, but the property is up a steep and narrow lane and a car is essential. The owners were prompt in responding to text messages during our stay and also allowed us access to a washing machine in their private area.
  • The kitchen area only allowed one person at a time to be in it and lacked adequate preparation surfaces. The upstairs bedrooms did not have any wardrobes to hang clothes which we found difficult, and some cushions for outside loungers would have been helpful as also properly working sun umbrellas.
